What kind of discounts can I get on Walt Disney World Tickets?
My family is going on vacation to Disney World. We are a family of four going for two days. My father has a lung disease that makes it impossible to walk a long distance (another question, what kind of wheelchairs are available for him on this trip?) He is also a Navy Veteran. Are there any discounts that our family can receive?

- The two websites I would reccommend for you are: http://www.mousesavers.com/ This website has a TON of information relating to Disney. Everything from restaurant menus to tips and tricks to save time and money. Lots of info on here. http://www.undercovertourist.com One of the few places that sell AUTHENTIC discounted Disney tickets. Do not try and save money buy purchasing tickets off eBay or CraigsList. You might get lucky and get a genuine ticket. But you might be stuck with a fraud ticket. Undercovertourist sells official tickets and they are discounted slightly. Disney is NOT going to be cheap. But is is awesome!
- January is Disney month @ AAA, if you can book by the end of the month they have great deals! Or Disney.com you can do it yourself, its easy. They do have wheelchairs there and they can get them on and off the buses rather quickly.
- The WDW website would have info on any discounts for veterans. Otherwise, there's really no such thing as discounted WDW tickets. They DO have wheelchairs available in WDW. The website probably has info on that, too.
- There are no real discounts on tickets to the parks, and if someone tries to sell you a discount of more than a couple of bucks, run. Go to Disboards.com and check out the special needs board. The parks rent wheelchairs, but on a first come first serve basis. You would probably do better renting your Dad a scooter which is much more comfortable and doesn't require one of you guys to be pushing him all the time. There are many scooter companies that will deliver and pick up the scooter from you hotel.
- Military does get discounts from Disney, savings for hotels and tickets. They have wheelchairs available at the parks.
- Yes, not only can you get discounts on tickets, but there is even a military resort onsite: http://www.shadesofgreen.org/index.html As for the type of wheelchairs, the ones available in the parks are fairly plain ordinary wheelchairs.
- If he's retired from the service he can get some very good discounts like rooms at the Shades of Green or reduced admission 4-day passes. Unfortunately if he's not active duty or retired they don't apply. Just being a Veteran will not qualify him or your family. That's not because Disney doesn't appreciate his service, it's because active duty and retired service members have picture ID's, and without those it's hard to confirm someone's service record. If he has any friends who are still active or he is is a member of a military association, you might try using those contacts to find someone eligible who will be at Disney around the same time. There are lots of informal associations for specific ships or groups, that would be a good place to start. Wheelchairs and ECV's are available for rental at the parks on a first-come, first served basis. You can also rent one from a private company that will deliver to your hotel, google "Orlando ECV" or "Orlando wheelchair" and you'll find plenty. ETA: Shades of Green will allow regular Veterans to reserve rooms during January or September. That's not a ticket discount but the on-property location might save your father some time and energy.
- We can help. We do have discounts because we have a connection with one of the top brokers. We don't sell buy back tickets and we can help plan that vacation. We also have a connection so that you can get a motorized wheel-chair. Please call Dick Whittington or go to his website http://www.dickwhittingtondiscounttickets.com and go to pricing to see some examples. Sign in and we will give you the pricing list. I hope he can help you with your needs.
