Disney World Savings, Discounts, Tips, Secrets?
We are going to Disney World Florida this June for the first time. We are looking to save any and every which way possible. All of our transportation and hotel accommodations are taken care of. We really need to know how to get the best deals on tickets, entertainment, food, etc. If you know any "secrets" on getting the best deals or whatever on anything. Any websites or forums I should visit? Really, any resources you can provide would be very helpful. Even on things of what not to do, what things we really should go see or do would be so helpful. We're planning to visit only 2 theme parks this time. Which ones would you suggest? I've been to a couple other theme parks and the wait times to ride can be very, very long. Do you have any tips on getting around the hassle? Anything? The best days and times of day to go, weekends or weekdays? We do have very young kids, ages 5 - 10, and any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

- You can go to your local AAA, at the triple a place they have discounted tickets for I think rooms and attractions. I am not sure if you have to be a member. . Disney World will have less people there during the week then on the weekends, I would suggest The Magic Kingdom and Universal. Have fun.
- June - summer, super busy time to go! Sorry. Best ways to avoid lines are to get there when it opens and/or stay until closing time. The busiest time of day is always mid-day. If you will be staying close by, people will often go back to their hotel for an afternoon break/nap and return to the park in the evening. If you aren't familiar with it, read up a little on Fastpass (FREE!). A really great website that explains this and everything else about Disney is http://www.allearsnet.com Tickets - not really a lot of deals to be found. If you don't buy from Disney, buy from a Disney authorized dealer. If you do not, there's no way to tell if your tickets are legitimate. And if you get to the gate and they don't work, Disney cannot help you. There are a couple of authorized dealers online that offer small discounts, such as http://www.mapleleaftickets.com and AAA is authorized if you are a member. Food - of course, sit-down meals are more expensive. If you want to eat any sit-down meals, you MUST call ahead (months ahead!) and make reservations. The counter-service places are more expensive than fast-food, but some of them aren't bad. You can always save buy eating outside the parks as much as possible. If I were visiting only 2 parks, I would pick Magic Kingdom for sure - the most to do, and the most Disney magic! Second, I would pick Hollywood Studios. If your kids really like animals, you might do Animal Kingdom. These two parks are smaller, and you might be able to cover them both in one day if you purchase the park hopper option on your tickets - you will be rushed, though. Epcot - there are things that appeal to young kids there, but it does still appeal more to adults and older kids. So I would probably skip it.
- Just relax and have fun. Yes it will be busy (and hot), but plan ahead and make sure you plan some downtime (at the pool or wherever). The best tip I could give would be to make your dining reservations way ahead of time. And perhaps pack snacks and breakfast foods. See the website and links below for a ton more info. Have a blast!!
- The best advice is to book a vacation package direclty with Disney, it will include park tickets, resort accomodations, and dining all consolidated into one price. You may get a good deal if you book early. See the official webiste at: http://www.disneyworld.com or call 407-W-DISNEY
- This is extremely effective but it might make the father have to sacrifice... Go to the MK for example and get a fastpass right away. Then go and get in line for another ride. Meanwhile have the dad of the family go get in line for another ride that has an outdoor que line so you dont have to walk by tons of people. After you finish the ride get in line with him. After that go hit your fastpass. Works everytime.
- FASTPASS FASTPASS FASTPASS. on most disney attractions they have a fastpass which is where you get a time to come back like 10:04-11:04 it works but some rides like test track and space mountain run out by noon so get one for those first.
