  1. go to mousesavers.com they have the best advice to plan your trip.
  2. The monorail does NOT service all of the parks. The monorail will connect to the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian resorts. It has two other stops... the Magic Kingdom and the Ticket and Transportation Center. At the TTC you will switch monorails which will take you directly to Epcot. As far as Animal Kingdom the only way to get there is by bus, and Hollywood Studios is accessible by bus and boat. The resorts all serve breakfast as do certain restaurants in the parks. The restaurants in the parks are where you would find the character dining.
  3. 1 - the monorail does NOT go to all the parks It actually goes to a transit center outside the Magic Kingdom and outside EPCOT. All other parks - it's bus. The only options for Monorail hotels are Polynesian and Contempory. (Maybe grand floridian - I know it goes by it don't remember if it stopped. 2 - Yes most hotels have a couple different options - for example at Port Orleans Riverside there is a 'food court' type area where you can get a variety of foods as well as a restaurant. 3 - If you are going the first week in March - you may have more limited options as many make reservations 6 months or more in advance. 4 - If you are going to all the parks - you will have to take a bus at some point. 5 - there are some resorts where you can take a water taxi to one park - still have to take other disney transport to the other parks though. 6 - buses are fast and are clearly marked - to get you from your hotel to the specific park or water park you want to go to - it's not get on the bus and stop and 3 parks before you get to the one you want.
  4. The monorail only goes to Magic Kingdom from Contemporary, Grand Floridian, and Polynesian. There is also a monorail thatgoes to Epcot from thr TTC (transportation and ticket center) which you can get to on the monorail loop from any of those 3 resorts. There is no monorail service to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, only buses. The bus service at WDW is pretty good though. I stayed at a resort with only bus service and it was very efficient the whole trip. Every resort has at least a food court that serves meals all day. Each of the resorts I mentioned above also has table service restaurants, some with character meals.
  5. there are 3 resorts that have monorail service....the contemporary (my favorite), the grand floridian, and the polynesian resort. the monorail DOES NOT go to all of the four parks, two water parks, and downtown disney. you can only go to magic kingdom and epcot by taking the monorail. other options of transportation are boats (to some parks) and the buses go EVERYWHERE. the buses aren't bad at all. they run every 20 minutes and you can get to anywhere in disney world quickly and easily. don't dis the buses they are great. as i said above there are 4 theme parks: -magic kingdom -epcot -animal kingodm -and you forgot one hollywood studios the also have 2 water parks: -blizzard beach -typhoon lagoon and of course downtown disney. there are several restaurants at every disney resort so you will have no problem finding somewhere to eat for breakfast. the restaurants range from quick service, to sit down, to character dining. other info i can give you is that the resorts with monorail service are the most expensive resorts known as deluxe resorts and will cost you $240 per night and up. so if your budget doesn't allow for that then you may want to consider a moderate resort which starts at $149 per night and up (my favorite moderate resort is port orleans french quarter) or you can go with a value resort which starts at $82 per night and up. (my favorite value resort is pop century)
  6. If you're not renting a car and are traveling from the airport, I recommend Disney's Magical Express. It takes you right from the airport directly to your hotel. The monorail service travels through the Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and Polynesian resorts as well as EPCOT, the Magic Kingdom, and the Transportation and Ticket Center. It is very convenient and much faster than buses. However, I'm pretty sure that if you are not staying at one of the hotels with monorail stops, you will not be allowed to park at them purely for the use of the monorail. You need to have a reason (i.e. breakfast, picking up friends, etc.). The Disney Buses are extremely convenient, though. They go to every park and every resort, and they run from very early in the morning, usually around 7:00, to late at night, around midnight or 1:00. However, if you plan to leave Walt Disney World for any reason at all (i.e. to visit another theme park, go out to dinner, etc.) I suggest renting a car. The only resorts that are okay not to have a car or use a bus are the Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yaht Club, and the Swan and Dolphin resorts. These are about a 15-minute walk from Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. And because they're so close to EPCOT, you can easily take the monorail from EPCOT to the Magic Kingdom. The only downside to not using the buses or having a car is it would be difficult to get to the Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney, and the two water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. I usually stay at the Boardwalk because there is so much to do and see there, like performers, clubs, restaurants, and shops. Not to mention the big pool is great. The slide is very fun. But I usually rent a car or take the bus so I can get around to the areas that are furthur away. The best way to do breakfast is book it before the trip. Since you're going for the first week in March, I don't think you'll have much trouble. I recommend Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort. It's a buffet with delicious breakfast foods. In addition, characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald Duck walk around the tables for pictures and autographs. It's a great way to start off the day. Most resorts have their own restaurants, but I suggest you plan in advance. There's also the restaurants in the parks where you order and eat on the spot which are always good. Hope this helps and I hope you have fun!
  7. The monorail from the resorts only go to MK. No other park. You have to take a bus to all other parks. You can go to the TTC get off your monorail, walk down the ramp, walk up another ramp and get on another monorail that will take you to EPCOT All resorts have food for breadkfast, lunch and dinner. You really need to do some research. Try your library for the book "The Unofficial Guide to WDW 2008" and web site below. It will list all menus for all parks and resorts and the prices.
  8. My family dislikes the buses too. You should know that not only do the Poly, GF connect to the monorail, but they also have a small ferry, just like the Wilderness Lodge, to take you back and forth to the MK. The Contemporary is close enough that resort has a walking path to the park. As far as EPCOT, you simply take the monorail to the main station at the gates of the MK, and transfer over to the EPCOT monorail. You might also consider switching resorts after a few nights in the MK over to an EPCOT resort. The Yacht and Beach Club and Boardwalk are all within walking distance to EPCOT. They also offer a ferry up to the gates. The Swan and Dolphin are also there on property but they are not officially Disney resorts. These resorts are also within ferry distance to Hollywood Studios. My family likes to move around. That way you see more than one resort and you get to enjoy the convenience of being right next to the park you are enjoying. You can also leave the park hopper off your ticket if you want. For AK, just move to that resort for a night or two. Don't worry, the Disney staff is used to people doing this. Do the dining plan. It's worth it. You don't have to go deluxe or platinum, but it does save you money. If you want to splurge, stay on the concierge level. Have a great trip.
  9. The resorts that are connected to the monorail service (Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Contemporary) go only to Magic Kingdom. If you were to stay at any of these resorts you would have to take a bus to and from the other parks. There is no resort that has the monorail service to every park. All of the resorts have either sit down restaurants, food courts or buffets for breakfast as well as every other meal. They also have different types of restaurants for every meal in the parks. If you go to allears.net and click on dining they will have a list of every restaurant operated in Disney World, along with the menu. If you want to make a reservation for any of these restaurant call 407-W-Disney. I recommend making reservations. If you have any other Disney questions, just email me. Have a great trip.
