Disney World Moderate Resorts? HELP!?

OK, so this summer my family is thinking of going to disney world. We want to stay on-site and have NO idea where to stay! But we have narrowed our choices down to ALL MODERATE resorts. So all I'm asking for is which Moderate Disney World Resort would YOU recommend?! Here are some thoughts on what the resort should be like and what we are like - are family doesn't mind a lot of walking - the resort must have the Disney magic feeling -the resort must have a pool that is greatly themed with a water slide - the resort should have at least OK food choices - the rooms should have a T.V. - we do NOT want non-upgraded rooms -the resort must have a food court AND a sit down restaurant -THE RESORT MUST HAVE GOOD BUS SERVICE -cast members should be nice and friendly -last but not least the resort should have good scenery I may be The Disney Expert but i just need help deciding =D Thanks!

  1. i would recommend port orleans french quarter. its amazing and it has all of you "must/should haves".
  2. I would suggest the Caribbean Beach resort... they have the newly upgraded "Pirates of the Caribbean" rooms along with all of the other things you are looking for. As a side note every Disney hotel room has a TV and every Disney resort has at least one themed pool.
  3. Any of the Moderate resorts will fit and I think exceed all of your criteria. I have stayed at a lot disney resorts including all the moderate resorts. I find myself returning to the Port Orleans Riverside time and time again. Its a beautiful resort, I love the landscaping and the the general feel of the place. You truly feel like your staying in the old south in some grand mansion house. I also really love taking the boat to Downtown Disney. In particular I always request staying in the mansions of Magnolia bend in either Arcadian or Magnolia House on the riverside. These will put you closest to the old man island pool and the food court, restaurant, lounges, gift shop and main bus stop. There is a bus stop very close to the houses but I always prefer to use the bus stop located just outside the main lobby. I just always feel the buses get her faster and your always guaranteed a spot. The french quarter is nice but the busses go through riverside first and then head to the quarter. during peak times I have found it difficult to get on the bus because it was packed with people from riverside. Caribbean Beach is good too. Its kinda sprawling and I really didn't care for the food as much. The Themeing of the resort with the landscaping doesn't seem as intense the further away from the main lobby you get. Cornodo springs didn't impress me at all. I didn't like the way the food court was set up, I had to walk forever and day to get to it from my room. The theme pool was kinda boring looking. The buses to forever to get around this MASSIVE resort.
  4. All of them fit your criteria, but I personally like Caribbean Beach the best. I like their hotel rooms better personally and i think this is just overall in general nicer than the other ones. This one does also have a mini grocery store too, besides the resturant & open food court.
  5. Port Orleans Riverside is definately the place for you -You can walk till your hearts content but you dont have to -The whole resort is magical just everything about it -The pool is fabulous and it does have a water slide and there are several other smaller pools which are also great -Food is fantastic -Rooms do have tv's -The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated -It has both foodcourt & sit down resteraunts and they are both absolutely gorgeous -Bus service is fab we never waited longer than 10 minutes for a bus -Cast members just cant do enough for you, and they greet you and say hello wherever you are - Scenery is WOW, gorgeous buildings and fountains and the river its amazing Overall the resort is just brillient, we havent found anything to complain about yet and we've stayed there for the past 4 years x
